Production has started of the new blue Army uniform which will be worn foi‘ the first time by troops taking part in the Coronation ceremonials. About 50,000 regulars and Territorials will be supplied with a uniform, the exception being the Household Cavalry and the Guards, who will retain their existing uniforms, and the rifle regiments, who will revert to their dark green. DOMINION'S MILITARY CONTINGENT COMMANDING OFFICERS SELECTED [Per United Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, January 28. Although no official announcement has yet been made, it is understood that Major N. W. M‘D. Weir, staff officer in charge of military training and staff duty at General Headquarters, Wellington, has been chosen to lead the New Zealand contingent for the Coronation in London. The second in command will be Captain L. W. Andrew, V.C., adjutant of the Wellington Regiment. Two other members of the permanent staff will be chosen, one of whom will be a sergeantmajor. Both these appointments will, it is understood, be filled from the North Island. NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT [Per United Press Association.l WELLINGTON, January 28. The Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones), commenting on the Christchurch message regarding the Coronation contingent leaders, said that no appointments had been made, ns he had not yet received recommendations from the permanent staff. A selection of leaders could not be made till he had received and considered these recommendations.
