SURF BOAT

REPRESENTATION TO COUNCIL The General Committee of the City Council reports that an application from the St. Clair Improvement Association for the erection of housing accommodation at St. Clair for a surf boat and several canoes belonging to the St. Clair Surf Life Saving Club, which are used for life saving purposes, has been received and considered. A site is available adjacent to the surf bathing pavilion, the estimated cost of the building, as furnished by the building inspector, being £l9O. Towards that sum the St. Clair Improvement Association offers to contribute £SO. As no provision has been made in the current year’s estimates for tie expenditure, instructions have been given to record the matter for further consideration when the estimates for the incoming financial year are being framed in March next.
