OTAGO HOSPITALS
BOARD'S MONTHLY MEETING Those present at the monthly meeting of the Hospital Board, held last night, were the .chairman (Mr J. VV. Dove), Messrs D. M'Lennan, H. o. Sheat, A. Steel, Miss Farquhar, Miss Runciman, and Mrs Ross. STATISTICS. The medical superintendent .(Dr J. Thomson) submitted the following statistics regarding the hospital for the month of November: —Patients remaining on October 31, 299; admitted during November, 495; discharged or died, 484; remaining on November 30, oiu; operations performed, 237; out-patients treated, 2,044; visits paid by district nurse, 245; visits paid by Dr Williams, 17. The December figures were:— Patients admitted, 433; treated, 743; discharged or died, 496;. remaining on December 31, 247; operations, 212; outpatients treated, 1,702; visits paid by district nurse, 30; visits paid by Dr Williams, 27. APPOINTMENT. A letter was received from the Direc-tor-General of Health notifying that the Minister had approved of the appointment of Miss A. M. M Lean as matron of the Wakari Hospital. ACCOUNTS REMITTED. Accounts totalling £4,879 14s Bd, due for maintenance, etc., in various mstititions, were remitted.
