8,882 BODIES FOUND IN QUETTA

'Altogether 8,882 ,bodies have now been recovered from the ruins of Quetta, the city devastated by a terrific earthquake last year. Property to the value of £437,460 has also been recovered and restored to its owners. Clearance of the ruins is expected to he complete by the end of this month, and the city will soon begin to rise again from its ashes with its new permanent earthquake-proof buildings. It has already assumed something of its oltt animated appearance, though many of the present houses and shops are 'only temporary erections. The work of rural reconstruction is almost finished. Nearly £II,OOO has been spent on this, apart from relief expenditures.—Reuter.
