GAELIC SOCIETY

MONTHLY MEETING A good attendance favoured the firsi meeting of the year of the Gaelio Society of New Zealand held in the Returned Soldiers’ rooms last evening. Chief W. K. Cameron had associated with him on the platform Chieftains Angus McLennan, Kenneth and Colin Macdonald, and Alexander Mackenzie. Members were warmly welcomed and at delightful short programme was enjoyed, consisting of items by the following:—Mr Angus Madeijnan, Gaelio songs, ‘ Eilean Mo Chride ’ and ‘An Cluinn Thu Mi Mo Nighean Bonn’; Mr R. A. Mitchell, ‘ Bonnie Wee Thing ’ and ‘ Machusla ’; Mr Alasdair M'Askill, Gaelio songs, ‘ Mairi Mhin Mheall Shuileach ’ and ‘ Gur Gili Mo Leannan ’; Mr Leslie Dunbar, ‘ Macgregor’s Gathering ’ and ‘ Border Ballad ’; Miss Pat Atkinson, sean triubhaisj Mr Robert Hornal, pipe selection. The musical items were accompanied by Miss Mathieson and the dance musio by Mr Robert Hornal.
