Nearly 100 Stations. There are now 89 broadcasting stations in operation in the Commonwealth, 16 of which belong to the National Service and the balance the commercial (B class) organisations. New South Wales has the greatest share of both classes with five national and 25 commercial. The respective figures for the other States are—Victoria, 3 and 17; Queensland, 3 and 16; South Axistralia, 2 and 6; Western Australia, 1 and 5; Tasmania, 2 and 4. There are 17 stations of both classes now under construction or about to be started. Australia has one station for every 77,000 people. In the United States there is one for every 200,000 people.,
