SANCTUARY FOR GAME

KRUGER PARK'S RECORD SEASON The 1936 season of Kruger ParkSouth Africa’s famous game sanctuary where motorists may see herds of all kinds of animals—has proved to be easily the most successful in its history. Final statistics reveal that during the season, which ended on October 31, 29,334 visitors entered the park, as compared with 24,805 last year. In 1927, -when the park was first thrown open to the public as a national game sanctuary, only three cars entered its gates. The ever-growing volume of tourist traffic has made great demands on the Board of Trustees for accommodation and general tourist facilities. It is understood that the Government is to be approached with an appeal for a grant to the heard to enable it to carry out improvements in the park.
