EDMOND SHIELD The Otago selectors have chosen the following crew to represent Otago against Southland in the Edmond Shield contest, to be rowed at the Dunedin Regatta Club’s annual fixture on January 23, in the tipper Harbour: —Vnllis, stroke (Otago), Solomon 7 (Port Chalmers), Verngreen 6 (North End), Johnston 5 (Otago), Rae 4 (Port Chalmers), Pithie 3 (Port Chalmers), Binnie 2 (Otago), Eggers bow (North End), and Underwood, cox; emergencies, M‘Call urn and Hurrell (North End). In this crew the selectors have introduced new blood to interprovincial rowing by the inclusion of Johnston, Rae, and Binnie, making a .combination of experience and youth that should allow Vallis to work up a very effective crew.
