GERMANY’S PLAN EXPERTS VISIT LONDON Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON. December 21. The ‘Daily Herald’ says: “A German economic mission, consisting of three experts, visited London last week, seeking a basis for barter trade with the dominions, and offered in exchange certain goods for dairy produce, wool, and other primax-y products, but the dominion representatives were not encouraging. It is significant that the price of dominioxx butter has fallen nearly 10s per cwt during the past 10 days owing to diversion to the Bi’itish market of supplies of Danish and Lithuanian butter shut out from Germany.” NEW KILE BRIDGE PART PAYMENT IN ONIONS. CAIRO, December 21. (Received December 22, at 11 a.m.) The German firm of Krupp was awarded the contract for the construction of a Nile bridge at Samanoud at a cost of £145,572, of which Egypt will pay £35,000 in onions. NOT CONFIRMED LONDON, December 21. (Received December 22, at 11 a.m.) Dominion representatives are puzzled over the ‘ Daily Herald’s ’ story of a trade mission to Australia House. The Agents-Gencral stated that although for a long time various barter proposals had come from 1 Germany, chiefly from - private firms, they had not heard of the present move. Even the German Embassy was unable to confirm the report.
