DUNEDIN GUN CLUB

FINAL SHOOT FOR SEASON The final meeting of the season of the Dunedin Gun Club was held on Saturday at the club’s grounds, Green Island. There was a good attendance of members, and the conditions were fair, but a gusty wind made the shooting somewhat tricky at times. Three matches were fired—a 15-bird l handicap, a nine-bird handicap, and a nine-bird consolation match. The 15-bird match was won by G. E. Turner with 15 breaks (13 first barrels). E. P. Graham, Dr Radcliffe, and S. F. Aburn tied for second place with 14 breaks each, and decided to shoot off for second, third, and fourth prizes. The shoot-off, which went to the twentyfourth bird, resulted as follows: — Second prize, E. P. Graham; third, Dr Radcliffe; fourth, S. F. Aburn. Details of this match are given below. In the nine-bird handicap W. Morland, M. R. Greenslade, R. M'Donald, and W. Elliott tied with nine breaks each. They shot off for the prizes “ first miss out.” W. Elliott missed his fourteenth bird, R. M‘Donald his fifteenth, and M. R. Greenslade his twentieth, leaving W. Morland the winner. The rest of the scores were as follow:—G. E. Turner, H. T. Weir, R. Bruce, 11. Graham, and L. E. Walker 8, E. P. Graham, S. F. Aburn, P. E. Wood, R. Maxwell, and Dr Raddiffe 7, D. A. M'Leod 6, J. K. Begg 5. The consolation match was won by J. K. Begg with nine breaks. P. E. Wood was second .with eight and D. A. M'Leod third with seven, and they were followed by R. Bruce, R. Maxwell, and R. Graham with six breaks each. A sweepstake was held in conjunction with this match and was won by J. B. Craigie with nine breaks. W Elliott, M. R. Greenslade, and W. Morland tied for second place with eight breaks each. The following are the scores in the 15-bird handicap;—
