Opposite to these Monarchist groups we find, in the present renaissance of Spain, a very strong and active organisation called the Falange Espanola, Spanish Phalanx. Their leader is Jose Antonio Primo do Rivera, who has given to the Spanish Fascist movement the name of “ National-Syndicalism.” The Phalangists are really Fascists; they are not in favour of any restoration;, they aim at the totalitarian State? They speak of the next Spanish Empire, and preach a new era of social justice. Their rank-and-file come from the humble classes. Many Syndicalists of yesterday are the Phalangists of today.—‘ Observer.’
