GAMING HOUSE RAIDS

SUBSTANTIAL fines imposed [Pee United Pebss Association.} GISBORNE, December 19. As a result of raids on gaming houses, fines totalling £l4O were imposed on three men by Mr Walton, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning. Samuel James Bardswell was fined £SO for keeping a common gaming house. Maurice William Costello was fined £3O for bookmaking, and Laurence Kenny £6O for being the occupier of a common gaming house.
