SWITZERLAND'S CHRISTMAS
Our Christmas Day will be a littlo different from yours, for wo won’t get out presents till the evening. It is so exciting to wake up on Christmas morning and know the day has come at last; but, oh dear! it is so difficult to wait till the evening. When it gets dark mother and father disappear _ into the sitting room and we wait outside in the hall. We jump up and down and try to look through the keyhole. But" at last the moment comes. A bell rings. We open the door and rush in. The room is full of light. The Christmas tree is covered with candles, and every candle is lit. On a table underneath, covered with a white cloth, are our presents. They are wrapped up in bright coloured paper, but we may not have them for a moment. Mother goes to the piano. We join hands round our wonderful tree, and sing our Christmas hymn. Then we open our presents, and hug father and mother, and have such fun. Do you know we are actually allowed to stay up till midnight !
