WOMEN PICKPOCKETS

Eight 'members of. a gang of 10 women bandits who have , committed more than 200 thefts in the past few months'have been arrested by the Yugoslav polic.e. They are said to have worked under the command of a tall arid beautiful woman of 30, and they specialised in picking pockets; They visited fairs, made the acquaintance of prosperouslooking men,, and, 'inducing them to drink a good deal, picked their pockets. The .husbands of the women sold the stolen property, which is estimated to have exceeded £2,000 in value in the last few months. The great number of thefts had puzzled the police in the Vrbovatz district for some time. At last eight of the women were caught at an inn and confessed .to the 200 thefts.—Reuter.
