TAX OH ALSATIANS
SPECIAL REGISTRATION FEE [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH,- December 18. The Heathcote County Council tonight decided to fix a special registration fee for Alsatian dogs. _ Tho fees fixed were 2s 6d for working dogs, other dogs 10s, and Alsatians £l. Cr Havell asked when the resolution was proposed: “ Have we the power to do that? Has the Government done anything in the matter? Has anyone else done it?” The county clerk: There is nothing to stop it, although no one else has taken such action. Cr Havell: Well, if it is, only a matter of breaking tho ice, there is no reason why we should not.
