Cheese, 63s per cwt; market quiet. LONDON MEAT MARKET. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business yesterday:—Frozen meat; There is little' business doing in wethers and prices are nominal, while the market for ewes is quiet and unchanged. There is a seasonable decline in demand for -lambs. Wethers: Light, 5d to 5Jd per lb; heavy, 3Jd to 4id. Ewes, 3j?d to 4?d. Lambs; Twos, to 7|d; eights, ' 6|d to 7d; fours, 6|d to 6Jd. SEARCH FOR GOLD. GILLESPIE’S BEACH DREDGE. The secretaries of Gillsepie’s Beach Gold Dredging Company Ltd. report that there will be no until Wednesday, when the dredge will cease work until after the holidays. TALISMAN DUBDO MINES. Talisman Dubbo Mines have advised the Dunedin Stock Exchange that 55 tons of ore was treated at the Golden Dawn battery for an approximate realisation of £425. DOLLAR AND FRANC. Our Auckland correspondent telegraphs: After a fairly busy spell yesterday there was little doing on the Auckland Stock Exchange this morning, though values were mostly steady. Bank of New Zealands had a further sale at £2 Is, with more on offer at that price and buyers 6d below. Commercials recovered, buyers moving up to 19s and sellers to 19s 2d. South British Insurances, after sales late yesterday at £4 13s, had buying offers of £4 12s without sellers. Among the Australian issues Broken Hills firmed up to sales and later buyers at £4 2s, with sellers 3d higher. Electrolytic Zincs showed Utile change, the prefs. being quoted closer from £2 10s lOd to £2 11s 4cl. Mount Lyells had a sale late yesterday back 5d at £1 18s 3d, but the market was stronger this morning between that figure and £1 19s. The firmness in Milne and Choyce shares was reflected in the sale of debenture stock 8d higher at 16s 6d, wjth later quotations close about that price. Farmers’ Trading had better offers at £1 0s 6d. with sellers unchanged at a guinea. Government stocks were quiet.
