SIX BALLS—SIX WICKETS

[Per United Press Association.]

PALMERSTON N., December 9,

An unusual cricket feat was performed at Shannon when D. Mercer secured six wickets with six balls in one over. Five of the batsmen play in the Manawatu Association’s senior grade, though the match referred to was a friendly game. The feat is all the more meritorious when it is realised that it was not a case of a good bowler sending mere tyros from the batting crease, for several of t hose dismissed have played a prominent part in city cricket.
