SALVAGE AWARD, Mr Justice BuckniU, in the Admiralty Court at London on November 18, awarded £11,750 salvage tothe master and crew of the steamship Nestor. The award was apportioned as follows Owners, £8,000; master, £1,000; _ officers and crew, according to ratings, £2,750. The Blue Funnel steamer Nestor, whilst bound from Melbourne to tho United Kingdom on June 22 last, received an SOS from the A.U.S.N. Company’s steamer Mungana, which had bent her propeller shaft and had her engine thrust carried away when about 200 miles from Port Adelaide. The Nestor answered tho signals immediately and was quickly on tho scene. Captain Power, of the Nestor, used up all the rockets m endeavouring to get a line aboard the helpless Mungana. Notwithstanding the heavy seas and the blinding rain squalls, tho captain of the Nestor, by daring navigation, brought his vessel close in to tho Mungana, when fortunately the second-last rocket left on that vessel carried a line to the Blue Funnel steamer, and the Mungana was taken in tow in tho very nick of time.
