FACULTY OF INSURANCE

The annual report of the Dunedin Centre of the Faculty of Insurance in New Zealand states, inter alia; — The year closed with a membership of 70, of whom 27 were life members, A decrease of seven is disclosed, which was clue principally to members leaving the profession, and therefore no longer entitled to retain their membership of the faculty. The committee was again successful in providing an interesting syllabus of lectures, and the centre was fortunate in securing the services of able lecturers. It is anticipated that by next year the examinational material available to candidates will be considerably increased. The committee hopes that

the efforts in this direction will bo the means of securing a full range of text books and notes, which will enable many of the members to enter for the examinations; The committee congratulates Mr. F. B. Esquilant (A.M.P.) on gaining his A.A.1.1. and also on his promotion and appointment to the Dunedin office of the society. Congratulations are also offered to Mr Howell (A.M.P.) on the completion of part one of the life examination. Mr W. W. Thomson (L.L. and G.) became a member of the centre on his transfer from Invercargill.
