FORESTERS
The fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise was held in the court room, Unity Chambers. Stuart street, on Tuesday last, C.R. Bro. H. Hogg presiding. All the officers were in attendance except the S.C.R., Bro. W. Stetfons, who was working. The woodwards’ report was again very satisfactory, there being no sick correspondence. Invitations were received from Court Woodland’s Pride for Monday, November 2; Court St. Andrew for the same date; Court Queen of Green Island for November 9; and Court Pride of Port Chalmers (juveniles) for November 27. It was decided to accept them all and attend officially if possible. Letters of thanks were received from Bro. .1. Vivian and the health stamp campaign authorities for a donatiun. A notice was received from the secretary in regard to the Dispensary Committee meeting. P.C.R. Bro. 1). Mercer was selected to attend the Dispensary Committee meeting in place of the secretary (P.C.R. Bro. W. M. Hogg), the latter having to attend another special meeting. One maternity claim was received and passed for payment. Three candidates were initiated into the court with the usual formalities by the C.U.. P.C.R. Bro. D. Mercer taking the second part, and the Acting S.C.R. (P.C.R. Bro. C. M'Aulay) welcomed the now brothers with the Foresters’ toast. _ P.C.R. Bro, .). Doy reported on the visit to Court King Edward’s Pride, Bro. W. Williams reported on the visit to Court Robin Hood, and Bro. Warren on the visit to Court Little John. It was decided to send invitations to all courts for the closing social. It was decided to adopt the syllabus as submitted by the minute secretary. At the close of the meeting P.C.R. Bro. J). Mercer gave a very interesting lecture on locomotive brakes. P.C.R. Bro. W. M. Hogg moved a. hearty vote of thanks to Bro. Mercer for his able address. Bro. Mercer, in responding, said that he was quitn willing at any time to assist the court with one of these lectures.
