GERMAN NORTH COAST TROOPS MAINTAIN THE DYKES Association —By Telegraph—Copyright BERLIN, October 19. A hurricane swept over the north coast of Germany, mountainous seas pounding Heligoland, the lower Elbe, and the Schleswig coast. Storm Troopers and men from the labour service are working feverishly to maintain the dykes, A dyke at Stade, on the lower Elbe, collapsed, and a peasant woman and two farmers were drowned. Hamburg Harbour and Bremerhaven roads are crowded with shipping, and many collisions have occurred.
