All St. Kilda Workers. —Tuesday, October 27, 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. ST. KILDA RELIEF DEPOT. The fortnightly meeting of the St. Kilda Mayor’s Relief Depot Committee was held last Friday. Only one appeal Cor assistance was received, this being granted. Accounts amounting to £39 0s 8d were passed for payment. It was reported that there was still a good! demand for prints, etc., for making ladies’ and children’s frocks and underclothing, and the ladies’ staff had been kept fairlv busy. The arrangement* for the children’s Christmas cheer party were under way, and the secretary reported that the A. and P. Society had granted the committee the use of Tahuna Park. The date of the party was fixed for Saturday, December 19. The relief workers and men on sustenance wore taking full advantage of th« coal supplied at subsidised rates, and also of the clothing and boots, which could be obtained at greatly reduced prices, owing to the generous subsidy given by the committee. A canvasser is approaching residents of the borough for donations towards the children’s Christmas cheer, and he is meeting with a ready response. An official receipt from the depot will be given for all donations received.
