CHARGEABLE, STRONG N.W. WINDS The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— An anti-cyclone is advancing over the North Tasman Sea, but pressure is falling again in the South Tasman and Southern New Zealand. Forecast! Moderate to strong north-westerly winds, of gale force in places, backing at times to westerly. Weather changeable, with scattered rains. Seas rough, ANOTHER SUDDEN CHANGE. The stormy conditions of yesiew day morning and afternoon ceased suddenly last evening, the night was clear and fine, and a frost of 4deg formed. This morning dawn#! fine and sunny, with warmer temperatures prevalent. A flight north-westerly wind blew all morning, and at noon the barometer was steady, showing a pressure of 29.65 in. At this time the indications were for a fine and warm afternoon. Temperatures yesterday and to-day until 12.30 p.m. were 47.5 deg and 66.6 deg maximum and 40deg and 59.5 deg minimum respectively. The registrations over a 24-hour period yesterday were 61deg and 39deg, and the rainfall totalled .07in.
