POLICE COURT

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) FIGHTING CHARGES DISMISSED. Charges of fighting in. Rattray street were preferred against James Francis Moore and Sydney Alfred Eustace. Sergeant O’Shea said that the accused, who had some liquor, were fighting in Rattray street about 6 p.m. yesterday. They were arrested by Constable Berry. The accused gave evidence that the affair was merely a friendly scuffle. The charges were dismissed, subject to the payment of costs. NEGLIGENT DRIVING. The hearing of the charge of negligent driving against John Stone (Mr C. J. L. White) was concluded, defendant being convicted and fined £6 and costs. Tlio charge arose out of a collision between defendant’s car and a cycle ridden by a girl at the intersection of Cumberland and High streets.
