ANOTHER CHAIN STORE BUSINESS
SELFRIDGES REGISTER IN NEW ZEALAND [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 14. A public company, with a nominal capital of £300,000, was registered in New Zealand to-day under the name of Selfridges (N.Z.) Ltd., the objects of the concern being to conduct a chain store business in the Dominion. The company intends to expend £IOO,OOO on its first chain of stores. Stores will be established in the four main centres, and later in the smaller centres. Negotiations are being carried on-; at present for a centra! site in Wellington. A large portion of the ''.hares will be held by Selfridges (Australasia! Ltd. Mr F. N. Harper', co-managing director of the Australian company, arrived in Wellington on Monday by the Awatea, and immediately steps were taken to register the company.
