CHRISTCHURCH CITY AERODROME [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, October 5, A decision to commence the construction of the city aerodrome at Harewood as soon as possible was made at a special meeting of the City Council to-night. The Works Committee was authorised to complete arrangements with the Government on the basis of the offer of a subsidy of £ for £ on the labour cost of formation. According to a statement made by the Mayor, the total cost to the council will be_ about ’■£3o,ooo. In addition, it is estimated that the Government subsidy will bo £6,700.
