COMMUNITY SINGING

The season for .1936 is drawing to a close, with only three more “ sings for the mayor’s relief of distress fund and one for tiie mayoress’s Christmas cheer fund, and the grand final night, Monday, November 9. The big Irish Day ” takes place on Friday, October 16, and no doubt this will be as successful as the “ Scottish day ” last week. Mr H. P. Desmoulins, the leader, is arranging another good programme for this week’s “ sing,” which will be held in the Strand Theatre (by courtesy of Fnller-Hayward). The sum of £3OO has already been banded to the mayor’s fund, and the fourth hundred is in sight. Giits may be sent to Begg’s or Strand Theatre. Mrs MTntyre will be pleased to receive flowers for the stall.
