GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL PRODUCTION

Those who remember the ‘ Jack and Jill' pantomime given by the pupils of the Otago Girls’ High School six year* ago wilf be interested in the ‘ Balled of Light and Beauty,’ which will b* produced in His Majesty’s Theatre oa Friday, Saturday, and Monday next. As those who saw the pantomime will expect, the whole production is on a lavish scale, and the many dancers wear gorgeous frocks. The music is under the direction of, the singing master, Mr C. Roy Spackman, who conducts a full operatic orchestra composed of local musicians, many of whom are ex-pupils of the school. The music, which is very tuneful and cleverly orchestrated, is sung by_ » chorus of 150 voices from the singing classes of the school. . For the unison and two part songs words of the great English poets have been used.in some cases, and in others the- songs have been written by Miss "King, The music and orchestration have been done by Mr Spackmaa.
