ANGLO-EGYPTIAN TREATY
FORECAST OF TERMS AERIAL CONTROL MAY REPLACE GARRISON Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright CAIRO, July 3. The newspaper ‘AI Ahfam ’ publishes a forecast of the alleged terms of the new Anglo-Egyptian treaty, under -which, it says, the British garrison will he withdrawn from the capital and replaced by some form of aerial control. It says that the Admiralty is adopting a more cautious attitude regarding Alexandria, but a possible solution may be reached by an agreement affording facilities for a British naval base, for which Britain would make adequate payment. The newspaper adds that Britain is also apparently prepared to meet the Egyptian views regarding the Sudan, including the return of the Egyptian army to certain specified garrisons, but not to Khartoum.
