The returns for three months for the Frankton and Hamilton railway stations show a marked increase in the goods handled and the. revenue. At Frankton the revenue increased by over £4,600 and at Hamilton by over £3,000. For the quarter 27,025 tickets were sold at Frankton, an increase of 1,217, while the revenue' totalled £7,065. The figures indicate the increased popularity of railway travel. The Kaikorai branch of the W.C.T.TJ. held its meeting in the Presbyterian prayer meeting room. “ White Ribbon ” day was commemorated, and the programme for that day was carried out:—Responsive reading and prayer, minutes, and pledge. The dialogue, ‘ The Trees of the Forest, 1 ’ was road by Mrs Brown, followed by the Scripture reading, discussion, and afternoon tea.
