PLANT HUNTING EXPEDITIONS
On May 1 Mr F. Kingdom Ward sailed from Southampton, England, for the United States of America aboard the liner President Roosevelt, his visit to America being made on the invitation of the Governors of the Natural History Museum of New York, the purpose of his visit being to discuss the question of future exploration —botanical and zoological—in SouthEastern Asia. Mr Ward has already conducted 13 plant-hunting expeditions in Asia, and is possibly the foremost plant collector of the present generation, modern gardeners having been enriched by the fruits of his labours.
