PRUNING DEMONSTRATION

Last week’s demonstration was given in the well-kept garden of Mrs Ridley, Ravelston street, Tainui. Not only were the fruit trees in good order, but one side of the garden there were aviaries of beautiful-coloured birds, which set off the surroundings in an artistic manner. The subject demonstrated was the Cordon system, and the large number of people present were keenly interested. Mrs Ridley was thanked for the use of her garden and also for her hospitality in providing afternoon tea. Next week’s demonstration will be held in the garden of Mr G. Crust, o Grey street, on July 11. All those interested in fruit cultivation are invited to be present. The demonstration will commence promptly at 2.30 p.m.
