MEETING OF SOCIETY’S EXEGUTIVE .. _ * i A meeting of the executive of th« Otago High School Old Boys’ Society was held last night, when there were present:—Messrs F. H. Campbell (in thb chair), J. M. Fraser, R. W. S. Betting, A. J. Gillraan, Dr Begg. J. D. Fletcher, U. H. Walker, L. M. Satterthwaite, W- J. Strong, I. W. Cowie, J. G. Jeffrey, E. It. Winkel,' W. F. Watters, AV. E. Brugh, E. J. Smith, H. Harvey, and J. L. Calder, and the Rev. V. Fisher. The President referred to the death of Mr P. S. K. Macassey, a highlyeSteemed old boy of the school, and moved that a letter of sympathy be sent to, his relatives,—The motion was carried, and members 'stood in silence for a moment as a mark of respect..... It was resolved to convey the society’s congratulations to Sir John Rankin Reed, C.8.E., K. 8., and Sir Stanton Hicks, K. 8., on the honour bestowed upon them by His Majesty the King. It was resolved to request the Hon. W. Downio Stewart to unveil the tablet at the school in memory of Sir Francis Dillon Bell during the church service at the school on August 2, It was left in the hands of Mr AValker to bring a report from the Insurance Sub-committee before the annual meeting regarding the iilsurance scheme to provide a fund for the upkeep of school grounds. It was resolved to nominate Mr £, AVebster for the position of life governor of the society. The Dance Sub-committee recommended that the annual dance be held in the Concert Chamber on Monday, August 17. The Dinner Sub-committee submitted a report regarding th«< annual reunion and dinner, and it was resolved to hold this function on August '3, to be followed by the annual meeting. It was decided that the annual church service be held at the school on August 2.—Arrangements regarding the service were left in the hands of the president. Mr Kerr, New Plymouth, suggested that, as most of the branches of the society would be holding functions on foundation day, August 3, arrangements might be made for r the parent body to send a wireless message.—The matter was left in the hands of the secretary to be arranged. Mr Fill. Campbell submitted photographs of the school, and suggested that the society should haVe one framed and presented to the Royal High School o£ Edinburgh, through Mr J. HJxsock.
