Stewards, representing the men, coni ferred with the department superintendent, 'who agreed that their grievances would receive thorough investw gation, whereupon work was resumed. The chief point in dispute related to the system of fixing payment for piecework. The strikers’ representatives state that there is no bitterness, and once the affair is settled there is cer* tain to he no trouble tor a long tune*
