(Received June 30, at 11 a.m.) The Government accepts the recommendation of the British Broadcasting Corporation that the Empire broadcasting service shall be expressly authorised and developed. [A message received on .March 17 states that the committee set up last year by the Postmaster-General to consider the constitution, control, and finance of the broadcasting service in Britain recommended that the Empire service should be developed and extended, and that the appropriate use of languages other than English should be encouraged. At the same time corporation officials stated that the question of extending the hours of the Empire service was being considered and that there was reason to expect an improvement in reception.]
