AMUSING COMEDY
‘GHOST GOES WEST' FOR REGENT ‘ The Ghost Goes West,' which open# at the Regent on Friday, is a most amusing farce, and Rene Clair, the director, has combined admirably his own light touches with the robust comedy of Eugene Pallette. The plot, taken from a story in ‘ Punch,' is a novel one; it tells of a castle owned by an impoverished young Scot, who sells it to an American millionaire. The castle is torn down, and transported. “ stone by stone and panel by panel,” to the American’s Florida, estate. With it goes the family ghost, doomed to walk its halls nightly until he can avenge an insult to his father. There is a sense of rollicking _ gaiety throughout, and the scenes in .the latter half of the film are uproarious. Robert Donat plays both, roles, and plays them excellently. Ha has a great talent, and the ability to make his every role believable. JeanParkcr is the charming heroine, and Eugene Pallette, as the millionaire, ii aptly cast.
