WHEELER AND WOOLSEY IN 1 THE RAINMAKERS 1 ' A banker's daughter “ falls ” for Bert Wheeler and rain “ falls ” for Robert Woolsey in their latest comedy feature, ‘ The Rainmakers.’ which will open a season at the Grand to-morrow. When Alothcr Nature fails to solve the problem of bean farmers facing ruin because of lack of rain, Wheeler and Woolsey, armed with a dizzy-ionking machine, come to the rescue. They blunder into thunder, lope into love, race into rain, slide into snow, and skate into sleet before they eventually get the gadgets on their weird machine under control. It is sheer nonsense from start to finish, hut a good “ worry killer,” and few will fail to laugh as they clown in inimitable style from one ludicrous situation to another. Dorothy Lee, as the banker’s charmir/g daughter, returns to the Wheeler and Woolsey fold after being absent from their last two pictures. Berton Churchill. George Aleekcr. and Fredric Roland are also cast in good roles. Also to be shown is ‘ Powder Smoko Range,’ featuring Harry Carey, Hoot Gibson, and Boots Alallorv.
