The Lancashire and Yorkshire Association held its monthly social oil Saturday night. Mr A. Ellis (president) welcomed friends from Mosgiel. Mr Ellis then led the members in th«' grand march. The following gave items:—Master H. Latimore (songs). Miss Hastie (tap dance), Mr Sutherland (songs), Mr Porteous (musical item on the Swanee whistle), Mrs Walker (4 Yorkshire reading), Mr M'Coniiell (elocutionary items). The Lancashire and Yorkshire Glee Party, conducted by Mr F. Swift, sang ‘ Ever of Thee ’ and ‘ The Little Brown Church.’ Dancing and the singing of ‘ Auld Lang Syne concluded one of the most successful socials yet held by the association.
