AIRLINERS IN FOG
LANDING DELAYED [Per United Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, Juno 15. The Union Airways air liner Korimako was a little more than an hour Into in arriving at AVigram aerodrome this morning because of log, and 20 minutes of the delay was taken tip in circling about Christchurch waiting for the mist to clear so that the pilot, Air A. G. Gerrand. could see the landing ground. The northbound machine had had no trouble in landing at Christchurch, but after it left for Blenheim the fog rapidly grow worse, and the Korimako. coming south, had bad weather all Hie way down from the Clarence River. On arrival at Christchurch the pilot was unable to see the ground, and, rather than fly on to Ashburton, which be knew from radio communications was fairly clear, be ohoso to circle the city find tlie J?oit Hills waiting for the fog to clear. He could be seen ami beard from the ground, and was in constant two-way radio communication with the aerodrome. He finally made a perfect landing, taking advantage of a break in the fog. The machine later left for DunTbo north bound machine, which had no trouble at Christchurch, was delayed for a. little time at Blenheim because of the fog.
