THE LITTLE ENTENTE

CO-DRDINATION OF DEFENCES WEAKENING OF LEAGUE THE SUGGESTED REASON Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. BUCHAREST, June 14. (Received June 15, at 12.5 p.m.) 9 In accordance with previous arrangements, the chiefs of the staffs of the Czechoslovakian and Yugoslav armies, accompanied by representatives of the principal sections, have arrived to begin a five days’ conference aiming at the co-ordination 3 of the Little Entente’s defences. The problems being discussed include the unification of armaments, the establishment of new armament works in Rumania and Yugoslavia, which will co-operate with the Czechoslovakian factories. The convocation of the conference is regarded in diplomatic circles as an indication of the seriousness with which the Little Entente views the situation, in consequence of the weakening of the League and the breakdown of collective security. [A message received last week stated: The ‘ Daily Mail’s ’ Bucharest correspondent says important decisions were reached at a secret conference of the heads of the Little Entente, when King Carol entertained Prince Paul and Dr Benes. It is understood that, in view of the grave European situation and events in France, the Entente will be transformed into a complete alliance, resulting in the chiefs of the general staffs of the three, countries meeting on June 14.]
