PLASTERERS’ DISPUTE
A 44 SR 4S-HSUR WEEK [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 15. The Wellington plasterers’ dispute was before the Conciliation Council today. The employers are seeking a 44hour week and the employees a 40-hour week (no Saturday work). The employers offered 2s Id an hour, and the workers sought 3s 2d, or £6 6s 8d weekly. A representative of tilers and slab tilers protested against a clause in the workers’ proposals classifying slab tiling and wall and floor tiling as plasterers’ work, saying that this would mean the tiling trade becoming obsolete. There were enough tilers in Wellington to form their own union. _ ft was decided to keep the matter in view! i when the clause was discussed-
