WEATHER FORECAST
CHANGEABLE—FREQUENT SHOWERS The following weather forecast ras issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers,. Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay;— A complex series of depressions covers the Dominion, while an intense anti-cyclone is approaching across the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Moderate south-west to southerly winds, increasing, and later reaching gale fore in, places. Weather changeable, with frequent showers. Hail in places, and, on the high levels, snow. Temperatures cold. Seas moderate, but increasing. OVERCAST AND DULL. After showery periods on Saturday night and cool temperatures yesterday the day broke fine in Dunedin. The morning was overcast and dull, and at noon the prospects for a fine .afternoon were not encouraging. There were no frosts over the week-end, and the respective rainfalls for Saturday and Sunday were ,24in and .03in. A steady decrease was shown in the maximum temperature readings for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, these being 52.8, 48.3, and 46.3 deg, while the minimum readings were 44.5, 36, and 43deg. There was no wind to-day, and the barometer at noon was at 29.9 in.
