‘BUNTY PULLS THE STRINGS ’

LITTLE THEATRE, THURSDAY ■Written with amazing skill, ‘ Bunty Pulls the Strings,’ to bo presented oil Thursday in the Little Theatre, is remarkable for its simplicity of design and object. All the characters are drawn from life. It is completely realistic without being dull. Realism usually means the negation of drama, but the author, Graham Moffatt. has taken events from his own and others’ Jives, and has succeeded in giving speed and logicality without destroying any of the truth. The wit. the construction, and characterisation are of the highest class. ‘ Bunty ’ was originally played in 1911, for a night only, in London to give it a try-out. Amongst the audience were eminent critics of the time. ‘ Bunty ’ made an instant appeal to them. All were unanimous that here was a “ winner,” and as a result there was a rush by theatre managers. to secure this unique comedy. As soon as arrangements could be completed it was produced at the Haymarket Theatre, and for a play of that type established a record. In fact, it looked as if ‘ Bunty ’ would never “ come off.”

‘ Bunty Pulls the Strings ’ is being produced in the Little Theatre by the Little Theatre Society, and under the patronage of the Cdnncil of; Scottisli Societies, for a season of five nights, commencing Thursday next at S p.m. The box plan for members opened at Begg’s to-day, and will be available -to the public from to-morrow morning.
