M'KENZIE’S v. TRAINING COLLEGE. J. R. M'Kcnzio’s (8) defeated Training College I. 5. ALBANY I. v. TRAINING COLLEGE 11. Albany, playing its usual - speedy game, easily defeated Training College 11. The ccatres, combining brilliantly with the defence, ably led the forwards, who especially in the second half made the most of their opportunities. Result; Albany L 21; Training College 4 VARSITY v. Y.M.C.A. Some excellent play was witnessed in this game, with Varsity just a shade better throughout. Many good passing movements hy both teams made the game a very interesting one. Varsity proved the winners, 17-12. ROSLYN v. ALBANY 11. This game was marked hy excellent combined play by both sides. Roslyn had the better of the exchanges in the first half, but Albany retaliated after half-time, ant' made a good recovery. The game ended; 13-10 in Roslyn’s favour. SECOND GRADE. Civil Service Harriers (Dunedin) held the Kennet Cup, beating Christchurch A in the steeplechase event at Riccarton racecourse. A. R. Geddes (Civil Service) was first man home, beating T. Allen (Anglican, Dunedin) by 10yds. The Kennet Cup race is a steeplechase of throe miles. The individual placings were;—A. R. Geddes (Dunedin. Civil Service) ], T Allen (Dunedin' Anglican) 2, G. Barnes (Dunedin, Civil Service) 3. The teams’ race resulted;—Civil Service (Dunedin) 1 (30 points), Christchurch A 2 (35 points). In the Civil Service team Geddes was Ist, Barnes 3rd, Asher 10th, Hollands 17th. For the last 200yds Geddes and Allen fought out the issue, and in a, brilliant finish Geddes won by syds.
