PROPHECY.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —The large crowds who listened to Dx- Rolls on his recent visit to Dunedin were deeply interested in his talks on prophecy,’ which were very enlightening so far as he wont, but, to my mind, he left us at a dead end. He showed how Scripture is being fulfilled in Judah’s establishment But where is Israel? Now, I do not wish to enter into any controversy; I only ask the question from a sincere desire to know the truth. I have been brought up in a school that teaches the absolute truth of the whole Bible, and I know nothing of modernistic ideas. My Bible tells me plainly that Israel and Judah are to he united in the latter davs (in which we arc now living), ai.d one King shall reign over them. I understand that Dr Rolls is paying a return visit to Dunedin in a few days, and I ask if he will kindly answer my question through your paper: “Where is Israel?” There is a school of thought that would tell us Britain is Israel, hut Dr Rolls tells us that such is not the case. Well, what nation'is Israel? If I read my Bible aright, Israel must be on the horizon now, and that a great nation will arise with a King of David’s line reigning over them. In Windsor Castle there is said to be a genealogy chart from David to onr present King, but is that authentic? The United States of America cannot he Israel for she is of the same stock as Britain. , It is unthinkable that it can be Russia, which is trying to blot out all religion. Nor can it be Germany or France, for they have no King. We have Italy left, and with her success in the East it looks as though she with Judah is rising up to take over world affairs.' But I am only a novice, like many another man on the street, seeking light, and trust that Dr Rolls will he able to point ns in the right direction. Please let it he plain and concise, for I am afraid many do not understand much about modern theology. We are inclined to argue in this way: that if Israel is extinct, then God’s Plan has got mixed up in some way.—l am, etc., Inquirer. jftne 15.
