TITANIA’S PALACE SEASON
CLOSES IN FIVE DAYS Recognition of its priceless value as a unique art treasure is being evidenced by the ceaseless stream of visitors to the exhibition of Titania’s Palace in the millinery salon of Messrs Arthur Barnett Ltd. The palace is indeed a gem of miniature craftsmanship in every respect, from its richly-con-coived tapestries to the amazingly beautiful frescoes and mosaics, characteristic of the Renaissance period. Specially gratifying is the increased patronage accorded the display by children, whose enthusiastic delight is manifested by the great interest they take in the detailed splendour of the palace. The last special evening session before the season of the palace closes next Tuesday will to-night be afforded that section of the public which is unable to visit the palace during the day, the management having made arrangements to have the salon open until 0 p.m. The collaborators in this great work were Sir Nevile Wilkinson, who was responsible for the delicious paintings, and Sir James Hicks, of Dublin, who fashioned the palace’s exterior. Thousands of New Zealanders have viewed this glorious gem of patient craftsmanship, which contains over 4,000 pieces, each beautifully designed to take its accepted place in the palace. The exhibition is truly priceless, for, even though the palace is insured for £IO,OOO against all risks, most of the miniature articles could not he replaced. It stands alone in the artistic world of to-day. and wherever it has been exhibited people of all ages and of all walks of life throughout the world have Hocked to view it.
