UNIVERSITY v. TRAINING COLLEGE 11. University met Training College 11. on Logan Park, court'l, the forntfcr team proving successful by 23 goals to 8. University opened the attack and added three more goals before Training College forwards were able to pierce the University defence. Play in the centre was very evenly contested, both sets of players making many opportunities for their respective forwards, the Training College players, however, failing to take advantage of same. Half-time score was: University 12, Training College 3. Play in the second half was similar to that in the first. University obtaining a further lead in score. College forwards were more successful, adding five goals in this half. The game was controlled by Mr F. Bartlett. J. R, M'KENZIE’S v. ALBANY 11. One of the keenest games played at Logan Park was that between J. R. AFKenzie’s and Albany JL, the former team proving successful by 13 goals to 11. Up-and-down play followed the blowing of the first whistle, Albany LI. being successful in netting the first goal. J, R. AFKenzie’s returned to the attack, scoring twice in succession. Albany 11. fhen took control of the game and increased its score, the play then fluctuating until half-time, when the score stood at 8-7 in Albany ll.’s favour. In the second half J. R. AFKenaie’s succeeded in more than holding its opponents. and by good combined work added six goals to its opponents’ three. Miss M. S. Fleming controlled the game. Y.W.C.A. v. TRAINING COLLEGE. Training College set the pace in the first .half of . its game against Y.W.C.A., obtaining a lead of one goal by the time half-time was called, the score being 5-4 in its favour. In the second half, however-, Y.W.C.A. made valiant efforts to retrieve its position, and succeeded in adding five goals. College forwards, however, were not so successful, and netted only two goals. The centre play was again of a very superior nature. The final score was: Y.W.C.A. 9, Training College 7. Air F. Bartlett was the referee. ALBANY I. v. RAWHITI. The Albany 1. v. Rawhiti game resulted in some excellent play on Logan Park No. 2. Although Albany succeeded in getting 21 goals to its opponents’ two. The defensive work on both sides was outstanding, Rawhiti being at a disadvantage in that its forwards were not strong enough to break through the Albany guard. The Rawhiti centres held their opponents in check for the greater part of the game, but seemed to lire before the final whistle was blown. Mr R. Geddes refereed the game. SECOND GRADE.
