CAPPING DAY

OTAGO UNIVERSITY GRADUATES DEGREES CONFERRED AT TOWN HALL Preceded by the colourful procession of the professors and graduates in their robes and the members of the council, the dignified ceremony of the conferring of degrees on the graduates ol the year was held by the University of Otago in the Town Hall this afternoon. The graduates were presented to the Chancellor (Mr W. .1. Morrell), who was appointed by the University of New Zealand to confer the degrees, and the Chancellor also presented the diplomas. The graduation oration was delivered by Dr G. E. Thompson (professor of languages).
