Permission lias been given for one of the world’s rarest animals to be shot for display at the Empire Exhibition at Johannesburg this year. It will be a white rhinoceros, one of .the odd -Aw of its species remaining in the vvorid.' For years they have been protected with great care in the XJmfolosi resene. Natal, but it is believed the species is destined to extinction. The .carcass will be stuffed for the exhibition, and later given to one of the principal museums.
