THE PORT ADELAIDE. The Port Line steamer Port Adelaide is due at Bluff from Australia on May 21 to commence loading in New'Zealand. Her other loading ports are Port Chalmers, Timaru, Waikokopu. Gisborne, Napier, and Wanganui. She is due at Port Chalmers on May 25. and is scheduled to clear Wanganui for Southampton and London on June 13. REPLACING OBSOLETE SHIPS. The demand lor new tonnage should be stimulated, according to ‘ The Motor Ship,’ by the fact that Britain has a cargo and passenger fleet of 15,000,000 tons, of which vessels of 1.300,000 tons are more than 25 years old, and therefore out of dale. 'This tonnage should be replaced in the next 12 months, for it is an unsatisfactory position that more than S per cent, of the British cargo and passenger fleet should bo obsolete. During the past four months British owners have ordered motor ships of <315.000 tons, while the co,-e----sponding figures for British and foreign owners combined is 7-10.000 tons. INTERiSLAND EXPRESS. The inlet-island express steamer Maori arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington at 7 a.m. yesterday. MOVEMENTS. Coastal. Gale is due to-morrow morning from Bluff, and is timed to sail the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Breeze is due from Wellington on Saturday to load for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui via ports. Parera arrived this morning from northern ports. She is expected to sail to-night for Wellington. New Plymouth, and Waikato via Timaru. Port Whangarci is due here on Wednesday to load and sail the same day for Wellington, Tauranga, Auckland, and Whangarci. Holmdale is due here on Saturday from Wanganui, to load and sail the same day. Wainui is due to-morrow from Bluff in load and sail in the afternoon for Oamarn, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington. Napier, and Gisborne. Kartigi is expected to-morrow evening from Lyttelton, and will sail .on Friday for Oamarn, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Kaimai left Westport on Saturday for Lyttelton, Oamarn, and Dunedin. She is due hero on Wednesday, and after discharge will sail for Bluff and Westport.
